Hendersonville Presbyterian Church:

Job Title: Children's Ministry Director

Status: Part-time – 20-25 hours per week

Supervisor Title: Pastor

Purpose: To develop, plan, coordinate, execute and review all aspects of Children's Ministries, encompassing nursery - elementary school aged children.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• A person with a vibrant, Christ-centered faith.
• Ability to inspire, teach, and minister to children.
• Build and equip volunteer children's ministry teams.
• Teamwork is key - work well with the staff, elders, and volunteers.
• Be welcoming of all children and families.
• Have a heart and love for children with a deep desire to see them grow and develop in their faith.
• Communication skills necessary.

Supervision Guidelines and Work Performance Evaluation:

• The Director of Children's Ministry will work closely with the Discipleship Committee and be accountable to the Lead Pastor, or person designated by the Lead Pastor.
• Job Skills and Performance will be evaluated continually by the pastor and discipleship committee with a written evaluation done after 90 days of employment. Annual evaluations will be conducted thereafter.

Hendersonville Presbyterian Church:

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing educational opportunities and modify, eliminate, or build programs as needed.
• Build strong relationships with the children, families, and volunteers.
• Develop, coordinate, plan, execute, and review the educational ministry of HPC of children from nursery age through 5th grade.
• Integrate children and families into the overall life of the church.
• Recruit and equip volunteer leaders for Sunday school, programs, and special events. This includes Safe Ministry Training.
• Research, select, or write and submit to discipleship committee for approval, scripturally based curriculum as needed.
• Collect and distribute weekly data.
• Attend discipleship committee meetings monthly.
• Attend Annual Staff Retreat
• Other duties as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
